Oh Blessed bucket of bolts, you were a work of art,
You saw me through my high school days, so happy and carefree,
Polished and so shiny you never failed to start.
You took us to the graduation prom, where she did steal my heart,
You proudly carried her, she of the pretty face, soon my bride to be,
Oh Blessed bucket of bolts, you were a work of art.
You took us on our wedding day and helped our life to start,
When she did learn to drive, you were so docile, so it seemed to me,
Polished and so shiny you never failed to start.
When our first child was born you did your faithful part,
Took your mistress to the lying-in, we waited there the child to see,
Oh Blessed bucket of bolts , you never failed to start.
Winter, summer, rain or shine how oft you took her to the mart,
The years brought other children, your age was plain to see,
Polished and so shiny, you never failed to start.
When it was time for you to go, I grieved as you did depart,
But now when I see you there, I think so well of thee,
Oh Blessed bucket of bolts, you were a work of art,
Polished and so shiny, you never failed to start.
